Solid Insulation Material: The solid insulation material used in a transformer refers to an insulation material whose material itself is solid or chemically reacted and physically changed into a solid. There are many kinds of solid insulation materials for transformers, such as insulating paper, insulating paperboard, Nomex paper, DDP, electrical laminated wood, epoxy glass cloth board, low dielectric loss laminate, insulating varnish, insulating paste, cotton tape, and fastening tape, reticulated polyester tape and so on.

1. Insulating paper: The insulating paper described here refers to pure sulphate wood pulp paper, and other insulating papers include synthetic fiber paper (such as NOMEX paper), nitrile insulating paper (such as Denison paper), and the like.

2. Insulating crepe paper: It is made by wrinkling of electrical insulation paper. There are wrinkles along its lateral direction, and the wrinkles are pulled apart when stretched. Wrinkle paper with different elongation can be produced due to different wrinkle processing procedures. The thickness of the insulating paper is generally 0.05 mm to 0.12 mm, and the elongation is in the range of 5% to 200%. Insulated crepe paper is often used for the winding insulation of oil-immersed transformers, such as the winding.

3. Denison Paper: The insulating paper is changed to nitrile paper, and in the manufacturing process, dinitrile amine, vinyl cyanide, etc. are added to the pulp. It is produced by Denison Company of the United States. It is characterized by the fact that after the paper is creped, it has calendered, has good mechanical cyanide degree and appropriate elongation. It is an ideal material for large transformer windinginter-turn It can be ensured by wrapping the transposed wire tightly without swelling.

4. Nomex paper: It is a heat-resistant synthetic fiber paper produced by DuPont of the United States. Nomex is the trade name for this fiber paper. Nomex’s main ingredient is aromatic polyamide, which has good heat aging properties. It can be used at 220 °C for a long time and belongs to Class C insulation material.

5. DDP: It can be divided into single-sided adhesive tape, double-sided adhesive tape and rhombic adhesive tape.It is made by coating a phenolic resin or an epoxy resin with a 0.07 mm wound paper, followed by baking and drying.

6. Metallized paper: used for floor and electrostatic screens. The bottom paper is 0.2 mm thick insulating paper, the thickness of the aluminum foil is 0.02 mm, used for lead and the insulating screeninsulation.

7. Insulating cardboard: made of sulphate wood pulp paper. It is used for the oil gap pad of the pie winding, the separator, the cardboard cylinder, the corrugated paper, the iron yoke insulation, the clamp insulation and the end insulation winding pressure plate.

8. Insulation cylinder: The insulation cylinder used in the transformer includes phenolic rubber paper cylinder, epoxy glass cloth cylinder, glass steel cylinder and cardboard cylinder.

9. Corrugated cardboard: In the oil plate gap structure composed of multi-layer paper tubes of high-voltage transformers, corrugated cardboard can be used instead of struts to form oil gaps. This insulating structure saves insulation material on the basis of ensuring insulation properties.

10. Electrical laminates:They are insulating materials with a layered structure made of paper, cloth and wood veneer, dip coated with different adhesives, hot pressed or rolled.

11. Nomex cardboard: A paperboard made from aramid fiber-based synthetic materials.

12. Pultrusion rods: The inter-stage rods, air gap stays, screws and screws of dry-type transformer core columns often use glass wire pultrusion.

13. Electrical thin-film and electrical composite materials: with excellent dielectric properties, they are all thin-film insulation materials. Electrical films include polypropylene film, polyester film and polyimide film. A composite material ismade of one or both sides of a film bonded to a fibrous material.

14. Glass varnish: Glass varnish is made by baking an insulating paint with an electrical alkali-free glass cloth, used for dry transformers.
