Electrical insulation materials commonly are classified into inorganic insulating materials, organic insulating materials and mixed insulating materials according to their different chemical properties. Commonly used inorganic insulating materials are: mica, asbestos, marble, porcelain, glass, sulfur, etc., mainly used as winding insulation for motors and electrical appliances, bottom plates and insulators for switches.

Organic insulating materials are: shellac, resin, rubber, cotton yarn, paper, hemp, rayon, etc., mostly used to make insulating varnish, coated insulation of winding wires, etc. The hybrid insulating material is a variety of molded insulating materials which are processed by the above two materials, and is used as a base, an outer casing, and the like of an electric appliance.

In the design of electric drive, the motor must be selected for the production machinery according to the principle of economy and reliability. The first priority is the choice of motor power under various operating modes and operating conditions, as well as the current type, form, rated voltage and rated speed of the motor.

When determining the motor power, it is necessary to consider the requirements of the motor to be able to produce mechanical load, and also the factors such as the heat generation of the motor, the allowable overload capability and the starting ability. Under normal circumstances, the heat problem is the most important. Therefore, we must first study the general law of motor heating and cooling, and then introduce the principle of correct selection of the motor and the monitoring and maintenance knowledge of the motor operation according to the different conditions of the load operation.

DMD insulation paper is a composite insulation product made of a layer of polyester film coated with adhesive and a layer of polyester fiber non-woven composite and calendered, referred to as DMD. 6630 B-DMD composite material has good mechanical strength, dielectric properties and high heat resistance (Class B). It is a shaped insulating material for Y series motors. It can be used as slot insulation, turn-to-turn and layer layer-insulation, gasket insulation for small and medium-sized motors, and transformer insulation.
