Therefore, the insulation material must have good dielectric properties, that is, it must have high insulation resistance and compression strength to avoid accidents such as leakage, creepage, and breakdown; secondly, the heat resistance of the insulating material should be better, which can mainly ensure that there will be no change in performance due to long-term thermal effects; in addition there is good thermal conductivity, moisture resistance and high mechanical strength and processing convenience.

Classification and Performance

There are many kinds of insulation materials, which can be divided into three categories: gas, liquid and solid. Commonly used gas insulation materials are air, nitrogen, sulfur hexafluoride and so on. Liquid insulation materials include mineral insulation oils, synthetic insulation oils (silicone oil, dodecylbenzene, polyisobutylene, isopropylbiphenyl, diarylethane, etc.). Solid insulation materials can be divided into organic and inorganic categories. Organic solid insulating materials include insulating paints, insulating glues, insulating papers, insulating fiber products, plastics, rubbers, varnished paint tubes and insulating impregnated fiber products, electrical films, composite products and adhesive tapes, and electrical laminates. While inorganic solid insulating materials mainly include mica, glass, ceramics and their products. In contrast, the variety of solid insulation materials is also the most important.
